Disabled. What's in a label? Certainly I was forced to make many changes as the disease process advanced throughout the body. Changed what I could do- how long I could tolerate many activities. I modified my ADL's ( activities of daily life)... Gone were days at the gym... Replaced by daily ROM (range of motion) and prescribed chiropractic and PT. I have to PLAN out HOW I am going to meet my basic needs. And when you hurt to much to WANT to eat... Needs get blurred into luxuries. That's when you are really in a state of being that you have to seek out others of similar situation and circumstances. To feel that sense of connectedness that is vital to the human experience.
